Royal Oak Elementary Ski and Snowboard Club Info
Overview: The Oak Ridge Elementary Ski and Snowboard club was started in 2015 to get our families out enjoying the fun winter weather! Last year we expanded the program to ALL Royal Oak Elementary schools. We are looking forward to another great season on the slopes of Pine Knob.

Weekly RSVP: Use this LINK to RSVP before 10 AM each Tuesday we have Ski/Snowboard Night. If necessary, text/call Kristen if you are unable to use the Sign Up Genius link.
Cost: Pine Knob sets the costs for the program: $20 for membership per person (one time fee), $20 for each lift ticket and $20 for each rental. Each member receives a membership card and it allows you access to:
A) discounted lift tickets B) equipment rental at a reduced cost C) specific number of child ski/snowboard lessons (2 ski, 1 snowboard)
How to join after Info Night: Please fill out the request here and pay via Paypal OR drop a check (made to Pine Knob Ski Resort) to the Oak Ridge PTA mailbox in an envelope labeled "ski club" OR you can drop off to Kristen directly at her home. Then you can pick up your memberships card(s) at a Kristen's or one of the first ski nights.
When: We will meet every Tuesday as soon as Pine Knob gets snow (except the holiday week 12/22-1/6). Length of the season will depend on Pine Knob and Mother Nature. If you choose to go on a different weeknight, students can present their membership cards for the reduced student rate and adults can use their card for $5 discount off the regular ticket price. (Adults only get the $20 lift ticket price on our Club Tuesdays).

Picking up lift tickets: Our club table will be open from 4:15-6:00 PM Tuesdays at Pine Knob in the Pinery Cafe (upstairs to the left) to pick up your tickets. Every skier/snowboarder (including parents and older/younger siblings) will need to purchase a lift ticket for every session.
Adult supervision: An adult must remain at the resort when students are skiing. Due to the size of the resort and the age of the children, it is not feasible for us to oversee the children safely.
Patches: When skiing with a student lift ticket, students are only allowed on hills based on patch level achieved. If you prefer to take your child on more advanced lifts, then you will need to purchase a full lift ticket + discount with membership card.
Additional Info: If your child has never skied/snowboarded before, this is a great time to learn, even if you only make it out on the slopes a few times. There isn’t a commitment to every session. Come as often or little as you like. *If you have a child 6 years or younger, they qualify for a discounted ticket without membership.
Equipment: Don’t have your own equipment? No worries! Rentals are available at discounted rates. Snowboards or skis can be rented for $20 each. If you don’t have your own helmet, rentals are available for $10. Please remember helmets are REQUIRED. If you are renting, a picture ID is required. Checks should be written to Pine Knob Ski Resort and in the memo portion write Royal Oak Ski Club. (Note: There is no need for separate checks for lift ticket and rental - this can be combined into 1 check at Pine Knob.)

- New this year: If you only need to pay and pick up your cards, you are welcome to join us from 6-7PM for club registration only. Show up, fill out your paperwork, pay, get your cards and you are on your way.
- For new members or those with questions, an informal info session will be held from 7-8 PM. This is kid-friendly but there is no childcare so kids will have to sit quietly during the meeting with their parents/guardian.

- Ski jacket, snow pants, and ski gloves/mittens (waterproof works best)
- Hat and/or face mask
- Ski or Snowboard equipment: Bring your own or rent from Pine Knob
- Helmet: Required! (available as rental)
- Wrist guards are highly recommended for snowboard (gloves often have them embedded)
